For many small and medium sized businesses that do not employ a full-time IT professional, setting up that first network printer can be a real challenge. One of the most common roadblocks to plug and play use for most network printers is the plethora of operating systems usually found in an organizations PC machines. While most computers are probably running Windows XP, others may be interfacing with the network via Windows NT or even Windows Vista. While these multiple operating systems don’t cause a fatal error in using a network printer, it makes the initial set-up rather tricky. Unless you are looking for a long course in Network Printers 101, you may want to leave the work to a professional. If you are looking at buying your first network printer you may want to consider buying it from a shop that also offers guaranteed installation. While the unit itself may cost you a few dollars more than at your local Wal-Mart, the time and hassle you remove yourself from could be well worth it.
