Isn’t this garden lovely?  What makes it that way?  Of course the plants make it beautiful, but so do the other elements like the wooden garden arch and the stepping stones.  These hardscaping elements draw your eye through the garden and keep it looking neat and beautiful.

One of the biggest benefits of using hardscaping in your garden is that when your plants are not in bloom your garden will still look nice.

For instance, I use an obelisk in my garden which I grow clematis on.  The clematis is magnificent while it is blooming, but when it is time to cut it back in the fall, I still have my beautiful obelisk to anchor my garden space when there is nothing else blooming.

When you are planning out your garden space, whether big or small, don’t forget about your hardscaping.  It will really make your garden look nice.
