The Boston Bruins were one of the original six teams to join the National Hockey League. Over the years they have been a great team and a poor team, they have had multiple stadiums and suffered through bitter rivalries. Many players have put on Boston Bruins ice hockey jerseys in their careers but there is a handful of players out there in hockey history who have been legendary under the Boston Bruin’s banner.
Take the great defenseman Bobby Orr for example. Bobby Orr redefined what it means to play defense in a hockey game. He would grind it out, he’d out skate the opposition, he’d pass the puck perfectly, and he’d score a ton of goals. He’s even got a hat trick named after him. If any NHL player today (or any hockey player in general) gets into a fight, scores a goal, and gets an assist, he’s said to have achieved a Bobby Orr hat trick.
