A few months back, you may have heard the news that the NFL and Direct TV have renewed their Sunday Ticket contract. This will extend the agreement through the year 2014, and will increase that price that Direct TV pays to the NFL up to a cool $1 billion per year. What that means for cable customers is that they will continue to be locked out of the Sunday Ticket package.
Direct TV and the NFL have come under fire over the years for what many consider an anti-competitive agreement. Unfortunately, the United States congress has failed to intervene in the matter, leaving the NFL to continue to soak its fan base for as much money as possible. In the meantime, any fans who want the NFL Sunday Ticket package will be forced to switch to Direct TV.
