Acne is a skin disorder that can happen to anyone and the main reason why it happens is because of the impurities in the body, particularly in the blood and in the sebaceous glands. Acne is a natural phenomenon occurring in the body and can be attributed to many factors. Fortunately, there are also a lot of remedies for acne and many of them can be found at home.

Some aggravating factors that can affect the condition of acne include improper food intake, unhealthy diets, and hormonal changes during the different stages of life. Vitamin deficiencies such as a lack of vitamin A and E can also affect acne development. Natural cycle such as menstruation, menopause, and pregnancy aggravate the acne condition. Other factors that aren’t necessarily supported by clear scientific findings include stress, medicines, cosmetic, and other environmental impurities.

Acne can appear on the back, shoulders, neck, and face where pores are likely to be found. It can be in the form of pustules, cysts, blackheads, and whiteheads (all commonly known as pimples). Acne should be prevented before it happens and this can be done through having a healthy and proper diet that includes fruits and leafy vegetables in the meal. Although this might not completely prevent acne, it will help to have glowing and healthy skin. Include foods that are rich in Vitamin A, C, and E because these vitamins can help maintain the skin and get rid of excess waste. Proper grooming and a healthy lifestyle can also help improve the body condition; this includes regular washing of the face and drinking plenty of water everyday.

Acne might appear no matter how hard we try to prevent it. Fortunately, there are a lot of available treatments that can be found at home. These home remedies for acne are often more convenient and cost-effective than chemical products. Two of these remedies include applying buttermilk on the acne infected areas and preparing face masks made from oatmeal and semolina.  Another good home remedy for acne is applying orange or lemon peels to the infected areas.  Some herbal plants that are good for treating acne conditions are aloe vera, fenugreek leaves, garlic, mint juice, basil leaves, sandalwood, and rose petals. This should give you a good start if you are looking for home acne remedies.

These home remedies will only be effective if applied as part of a daily routine. In other words, don’t expect results overnight. Treating acne is done with patience and discipline. It involves changing from an unhealthy lifestyle and being consistent with applying the natural remedies.
