The tailbone is constructed of three to five small bones at the bottom end of the spine. The tailbone is medically termed the coccyx. Before purchasing medical equipment, get a doctor to recommend a specific seat cushion, however, ultimately the best cushion will be the one that provides the most comfort and least amount of aggravation to the injury. Often times picking the best device will be accomplished after trial and error of the different types of seat cushions mentioned above. I think the best are the donut seat cushion.
