Choosing a Hall or Event Venue for Your Houston Wedding

Houston, and Texas in general, is an extremely romantic place to have a wedding and a fun place for receptions. It’s historic sites, priceless sunsets, and low cost of living make it the perfect place for life and love. The water falls near the Houston Galleria and the museum and theater district are some of it’s greatest attractions. Houston offers just the right blend of tastes and diversity in population to suit everyone’s needs.

If you are looking for wedding halls in Houston, but can’t afford a wedding planner, don’t worry. There’s endless information on the internet, in magazines, books, and by word of mouth at your disposal. The most famous wedding site/wedding magazine is the Knot. You can search it online for free suggestions and brain storming fuel or pick up a copy at your local Barnes & Noble or Michaels store. While this is a great resource that you should definitely use, it’s important to also get information and ideas from local sources.

For this reason you should include the name of your city when internet searching, and talk to local people for ideas of where they went and what they used. When looking for an event venue there are lots of easy and obvious choices- like the Four Seasons or other chain hotels. While an event here is sure to be glamorous, it may not be as memorable as choosing a local venue. If you want to get really creative don’t just search for things classified as wedding reception venues. Also look for Houston event venues – often these places are more generic, and easier to transform to fit your personality.

Always shop around when looking for reception locations- take notes, look up reviews, and ask each location about any specials they offer. You want this event to be memorable and conveniently priced as possible.
