The use of rotary shavers has seen a huge increase in popularity over the years, as we have seen the quality of the razors, and the closeness of the shave, improve dramatically – this has meant that the shave of the present day electric shavers can be likened to that of a ‘wet shave’ or ‘throw away’ razor.
The reason today’s electric razors are able to give almost as close a shave as the disposable razor is that it raises the skin in front of the hair follicle, this pushes the hair marginally above the skin line, which is then removed as close to the skin as possible.

Their design involves 3 circular blades, usually in a triangular formation, but operates in the same manner as the foil shaver set up. Both of these excellent razor styles are proven and tested and are sold in their millions around the globe.
The shavers are powered by a tiny DC motor that runs all of the rotary shaver’s features, and generally some sort of rechargeable battery powers this. The rechargeable battery enables the user to operate the razor with maximum flexibility to assist with the quality of the shave.
There are still the some electric razors available that are run directly from the house current. These shavers tend to be a lot cheaper than the rechargeable option, which might be of interest if budget is an issue for you.
