Working in a Supermarket

For teenagers looking for money making ideas, working in a supermarket can be a great part time job or summer job.  You don’t to worry about losing your job as much as long as you do a good job.  For example, if you work at a mall, the time after the holiday season is very slow and you could easily get laid off.  People always need to eat, therefore, supermarkets don’t have quite as large of a down-season.

If you are young, you’ll probably work as a cashier, janitor, bagger, or stocker.  If you are older, you can work other jobs that require you to be a certain age in order to operate machinery such as the bakery, deli, butcher, etc.  These jobs are less mundane and might pay more, but they are also a lot of busy, hard work.  Working at a supermarket is also good because, chances are, you live close to one and you won’t have to travel far.
