I am not a doctor, but in my reading, I’ve been unable to find any medical issues that are caused by the use of HCG injections for weight loss. There are however, a couple of conditions that can occur due to the change in diet and the change in the blood work. First of all, when consuming so little food, your bowel activity will slow greatly. It was not unusual for me to only move my bowels once a week while on the diet. This would be hugely abnormal for someone consuming a regular diet, but when one is consuming so little food as on the HCG diet, this is perfectly normal. AT the start of my dieting, I had high blood pressure. By about week 3 my blood pressure was normal to low. This is a result of changes in the blood composition and a massive reduction in water retention. Again, while this condition can cause some minor discomfort in the form of light-headedness and vertigo, this is normal and after a few weeks your body seems to reset itself and these feelings pass.
