Casio was one of the first manufactures to introduce a GPS watch back in 1999. The Casio Pathfinder was the first GPS watch to measure location and altitude. This bulky watch can be a little uncomfortable to wear, but no additional equipment is needed. Casio discontinued this watch, but you might be able to find it online in places like eBay or Craigslist. Casio was also the first to make a small GPS watch called the GPR-100. Geared more toward runners, this watch measures speed, pace, distance, time, and stores 100 points of interest. The battery in this watch fails after only 2 hours in normal mode, and requires 3 hours to recharge. Casio GPS watches have come a long way from the bulky Pathfinder, but additional improvements can make these watches even better.
