Others will counter that marriage counseling so often is unable to help couples and in some cases that is true. But keep in mind that as I wrote above, it takes a long time for people to admit there is a problem, and couples who go to counseling are moving in a direction of divorce, is it any wonder that so many end up at that point despite the best efforts of the marriage and family counselors? The sad fact is, identifying the problem and seeking help before the problems become more significant is a large part of the equation. Finding help when problems arise, rather than waiting until it is too late, leads to more effective and more positive outcomes in marriage counseling. Before selecting a marraige counselor, be sure to do enough research, because it will pay off!
