Free Construction Sales Leads Should Be Rewarded

If you’re in the home improvement business and find yourself the recipient of lots of free construction sales leads then you should do all you can to reward those referrers.  Usually these free referrals come in the form of previous customers who were happy with your work and decided to tell their friends about your business.  It would be a mistake to let these good deeds go unnoticed.

If a previous client goes out of their way to talk my business up and it results in more work for me down the road then I always try to take the time to send them a thank you letter and a gift card for $25 to a favorite local restaurant.  I do this for two reasons.  One, it’s just the right thing to do.  Instead of me having to spend a hundred bucks for a legitimate sales lead online I got a no-cost lead because somebody was kind and did me a favor, and that deserves a thank you.  Second, I want that person to be so impressed that they got a thank you and a gift card that they will continue to spread the word about me for the foreseeable future.  It’s the gift that keeps on giving, as they say.
