If you are considering a number of materials for your floor, try going green. Strand woven bamboo floors do not waste the excess cuts and unused or leftover materials in the production stage. Surplus materials from finished boards and leftover strands during stripping all make their way into the final product. Because of its high density property, it is one of the most highly rated flooring materials in high traffic areas. The Moso variety bamboo is used. It is cut into strands, boiled in water and boric acid solution to remove any sugar content. It is dried to prevent any growth of molds and fungi. It is then mechanically flattened into planks.

Strand woven bamboo is highly resistant to moisture and is easy to clean. The finished appearance of bamboo floors aesthetically rival that of traditional hardwoods without sacrificing the environment. Bamboo grows into full maturity in five to six years. Traditional hardwoods take far longer. That means bamboo is easily renewable and easily replaced. Overtime, bamboo floors may get faded or scratched. It can be sanded and refinished just like the traditional hardwoods.
