About a year ago I found myself in a panic because I’d lost one of the earrings my mother-in-law gave me for my birthday. While I learned my mother-in-law wasn’t as nearly upset as I thought she would be, I still made sure that I kept the other earring just in case I found it’s mate. As it turns out, that mate is lost forever, but I’m glad I never threw the other one out because recently I learned how simple it is to sell your scrap gold.
While it might not seem like it would really be worth it to sell your gold, I think along with the other pieces of gold jewelry (a broken chain, a bracelet with missing stones) that I have, it might really add up. Plus, I can use the extra cash right now and our local pawnshop just isn’t going to give me a really good deal.
So I realized that my best bet may be either finding a broker (locally or at a trade show) or checking with a jewelry store to see just how much they’re willing to give me for my jewelry. And if I don’t like their offers, someone mentioned, “You can sell your scrap gold through online auctions like eBay.” Hmm not a bad idea!
