I read some pretty amazing statistics on poker the other day. Statistically, only one in every six hundred and fifty thousand poker hands will be a royal flush. That’s some pretty small odds there. Now, I’m not a huge poker player, but I dabble with my friends every now and then, strictly for fun, and I’ve often wondered why I’ve never seen a royal flush. Now I have a better understanding of just how rare they are. I’ll be lucky if I even see one in my lifetime.
Of course, that doesn’t stop the adrenaline from kicking in when it looks like I’m getting close. I think the closest I’ve ever been is a King, Queen, and Ace, and every time a new poker card was dealt, my whole body would tighten in anticipation. Well, nothing wrong with dreaming, is there?
